AYALA RAITER - ART JEWELRY DESIGNER
BIOGRAPHY
Ayala Raiter was
born in 1968. She was an artistic child who learned early on to
channel her creativity and passion in a professional capacity. She has an
impressive arts background which includes formal training from a variety of
‘masters’ as well as an artistic ingenuity all her own.
Her formal
education includes a B.A. in social work, a certification as a primary
school teacher. Ayala worked as a primary school teacher from 1995 until
2002 and taught both art and general studies. She also studied Windows
Display Design in an Art College and utilized these skills in
many different capacities, such as designing window displays for galleries,
fashion boutiques and special events theme table decorations.
She then decided
follow her intuition and change her professional path. Although her teaching
job was a very rewarding one, she felt a calling to create beautiful
original jewelry for women to wear and enjoy.
Ayala has been
creating unique arts and crafts since 1992, including wood furnishings,
picture frames, clothing, fashion accessories and jewelry. She enjoys
combining different materials in unique ways. She strives to give her
creations a ‘close to nature’ feel - creations that are harmonious, balanced
and seemingly organic.
Since 2002, Ayala
has been designing and creating from her art studio in Canada. Her new
surroundings have given her even more artistic inspiration. She has been
focusing on her popular jewelry collection which features special healing
crystals that are intended to provide positive energy. For example, Rose
Quartz is believed to heal the heart and attract love. Citrine is believed
to be a stone of prosperity, attracting wealth and success. Garnet is
believed to improve body strength and endurance.
In addition to
using healing crystals, Ayala enjoys utilizing decoupage and other
techniques in creating each piece, which makes her jewelry an exquisite
one-of-a-kind visual experience. Ayala¹s personal desire for perfection and
her passion for each piece mean that she will not put out to market any
creation until she is totally satisfied with her design.
Ayala makes time
to create her beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry while raising her three young
children, between 2 years and 12 years of age, with her loving husband’s
support by her side. She is very much committed to her craft. Her clients
include exclusive boutiques, museums and galleries in Canada, the United
States and Israel.
